songs of the week- 14.10.13

This week I was listening to bangerz. Yes I was listening to Miley Cyrus. Now most people who I've told seem to be horrified that i'm listening to Miley and in one instance I asked weither or not they has heard the song and there reply was "She's always naked and grinding on something so no one listens to her music." Miley's appearance and clothes have become bigger than her music which is shocking when you consider how good her album actually is. As I write that i'm shocked. How could the girl at the VMA's have a good album ?? Well quite honestly it's honest, It journeys well with her. It's well mixed in the diversity of the songs but most of the songs have a great flow and Miley doesn't hold back. However for me songs like Rooting for my baby, adore you and drive are the highlights. The album alltogether is a great mix tho. Hope you enjoy my songs of the week.
Rooting for my baby - Miley Cyrus

Adore you - Miley Cyrus

Drive - Miley Cyrus

I can give you more - VV Brown

Running - John Newman

Songs of the week 2.9.2013

Monday mornings are horrible. The end of the weekend the beginning of the working week, for people who have a job. New music then is salvation. Down below is a few on my favourite tracks this week also as you can see from my post yesterday me and my flatmate/bestriend charlotte  have started a youtube channel. We decided to do it about early August but we didn't get around to actually filming it due to other stuff always getting in the way. We did film another video but unfortunately the camera went rather strange so every minute the screen gets blurry. Honestly filming it was so funny and even if it gets zero views the whole process of making a film and editing it I have found quite fun. Although editing on a coach properly wasn't the best idea when i can get travel sick sometimes. Hopefully as we continue to make videos I will get better at editing and I need to get more memory for my computer. I got a macbook air 2013 and I didn't realise I can't upgrade it which if i'm honest has really pissed me off. I wish i had got a macbook pro but oh well i have learnt not to trust apple employees who just want me to spend tons of money on a laptop.
 John newman - cheating

Eminem - bezerk

Miguel - Adorn (feat . Jessie Ware)

Olly murs - Right place right time.

London grammar - Strong.

Natalia kills - outta time.

songs of the week - 26.8.2013

Hello internet.
So the VMAs were on last night and I think by far the biggest shock/horror was Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke's blurred lines performance where Miley couldn't have been more sultry or provocative and to be honest looked like she was on drugs the way her tongue was thrown out of her mouth constantly. There was a number of music megastars there with Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and Katy perry preforming. Ellie Goulding was also at the award ceremony promoting her re release of Haylcon, Haylcon days. As i went onto iTunes to buy the new individual tracks because I bought the special edition version of Halycon. There i realised she has made 2 of the new songs album only which i think is disgusting. So after forking out eleven pound the first time for the album she wants me to fork out another eleven pound to get eight new songs and two covers. no thanks Ellie.  This whole re-releasing albums is start to annoy me and I'm sure a lot of other music fans. Either release an Ep at a discounted rate giving the individuals who have bought the album before a chance to buy it at a fair and decent amount or don't do a re-releasing and put the 8 new songs towards a new album. Rant over. enjoy .
   Ellie Goulding - goodness gracious

Ellie Goulding - under control

Naughty Boy and Bastille - no one is here to sleep

Stereophonics - 1000 trees

Lucy Spraggan - mountains

Miley Cyrus - wrecking ball

V festival music

V FESTIVAL !!!!!!  Twas everything i could hope it would be. The music was phenomenal, the place was absolutely huge. Choosing to go to Chelmsford over Weston was definitely a better choice for me. Not only was it like 40 Minutes journey from my house but it was by far the better place.
The chelmsford site is huge, well organised and the fact there was some celebrities, not just the ones preforming, at the festival made it feel more dynamic and exclusive. Me and my friends saw Tom Pearce, I had no idea who he was, and Jordan Dunn as we walked between the stages. Of course the main reason we where there was the music and here are who i saw at V festival.

Saturday

The Fratellis
James
Paloma Faith
Jessie Ware
Labrinth
Fun
The Courteeners
Beyonce

Sunday
Lawson
The Saturdays
5ive
John Newman
Tom Odell
Olly Murz
Rudimental
The Vaccines
Emeli Sande
Stereophonics
Kings of Leon

So Quite a long list of people and to be honest no one really disappointed me but there was a few who definitely stood out for me.
Jessie Ware- Being in the arena stage was properly best for Jessie and the crowd really got behind her. Loved her and gutted i missed her with Katy b

Fun- Who sound so much better live than there album which is quite strange.

Beyonce- Even being 20 minutes late and having 5 costume changes when she was on stage she was explosive.

John Newman - up and coming mr Newman is definitely one to watch and while it is annoying that only 1 of his songs has be released his new music sounded promising and he sure can slide and dance his way around the stage.

Rudimental- The Hackney band were on fine form and with the crowd going pretty mental over all of there hits this was a act well worth visiting. I was also really surprized that one of the band members can really sing yet he was no where over the album I don't think so anyway.

Emeli Sande - With her debut album being the album of Last year it was no surprise this talented Lady gave one hell of a performance and with a number of hits preformed there was not one dull moment.

Stereophonics- These welsh boys could have well easily headlined the festival if it wasnt for them playing there new music for about half of the gig and while it sounded good the classics stereophonics went down amazing with the crowd and band singing along to dakota and Mr right.

Kings of Leon - Kings a great way to describe one of the best bands in this moment in time. They only sung there new song supersoaker and preformed a large collection of there old songs and with a huge catalogue to pick from of some amazing songs this was well and true worth missing out on calvin harris and basement Jaxx for.

V shopping day

If you have read my blog before, or if not hello stranger, you would have properly read that i am going to V festival this year. The amount of organisation and preparation to go to a festival is so much more than i remember. I've basically had to buy everything again, purchases down below, and were properly missing loads of essential camping equipment but were going to go for the music and the booze like everyone else. The music, which i have done on another posts; V festival part 1 , V festival part 2 and V festival part 3 , is going to be amazing. Imagining what is going to happen this time will properly not compare to what it's going to be like. Even though I loved my first festival experience, i was quite young. With age comes a certain maturity yet also a bigger desire to "let your hair down." After university I feel this is my time to be reckless to enjoy and live in the very moment. That is what I will be doing and i hope to any of you going you will be doing the same. Enjoy the festival to those who are going and to those who aren't you an watch it on TV. Over here in the UK it's on channel 4 I think. Be safe and speak soon. TTFN
A farmers best friend.

New shaver as mine was wearing out big time.

My new and first ever camera !!! i all ready love it. Me and my flatmate/bestfriend charlotte are going to start a youtube channel and i will post the link where we have started to post.

songs of the week. - 12.8.2013

Hello,
This week has seen numerous releases and gear ups for the heavy weights of the music industry and a few from the rising talent. Hope you enjoy.

Haim: 'The Wire'

Alesso & Calvin Harris ft. Theo Hutchcraft (Hurts): 'ID (Wild Ones)
'

Haim- let me go

kings of leon -wait for me

lady gaga- burqa
The leaked demo could be an indication of the future of gaga's music and the ever talked about art pop. While i particular like the beginning of the music it feels fresh and new the use of strings were particular interesting the rest of the song is boring and feels like a reject of the born this way album. However this doesn't take away that this is still a great song.
katy perry - roar.

Another classic Katy Perry - a addictive chorus with her groovy punch. I am however disappointed that the UK is the only place to not be able to acquire it legally yet it seems to be all over the internet. While it did work for Miley's we can't stop in that she had her first number one, It annoys me that i have to wait till september 8th for it to be released.

ellie goulding - midas touch

albums of august

It has a ring too it, albums of august. So here are a small collection of some of the albums im looking forward to in August.

AlunaGeorge - body talk
Even though released on the 29 of july i didn't do a post in july and this album needs to talked about as it's one hell of a album. properly my favourite of 2013 so far. AlunaGeorge have definitely lived up to the hype that surround them. While you know you like it and your drums, your love have all ready been released there are songs of just as high calibre throughout the album with 1 song that i didn't particular like but the album apart from that is strong with my personal favourites being diver and outlines. Aluna's voice can be at first a bit off putting in its child like quality but after a few listens becomes an addictive and interesting voice to listen to.  8/10

ellie goulding - halycon days
Halycon released last year was and is a favourite album of mine with Ellie's vocal and writing abilities   matured from her debut album of lights. Just with lights Ellie is re- releasing Haylcon with more songs. The new single Burn and the skins featured you my everything which was one of songs of the week. There will also be her cover of Alt-j tessellate. If you haven't already got Halycon i would say to wait and get the deluxe version of Haylcon days as Haylcon itself was dramatic in its production and lyrics.

naughty boy -Hotel cabana
naught boy well know for his role as a producer on a number of songs and has worked with many talented and well know artists. He is now releasing a album of songs including the number one hit lalala with sam smith and wonder with emile sande. Listening to these songs and the new song lifted with emile sande i am eagerly anticipating this album. While every song on the album is a collaboration with another artist there are a number of high profile and brilliant artists on the album including Gabrielle, bastille, ed sheeran, professor green, tinie tempah and ella eyre.

example - hits
After departing ways with ministry of sound, he is now signed to epic records and is working on his fifth album,  there putting together a compilation album of all the hits that he has had with them. All the favourites are on there but only two songs from the evolution o
f man, which i feel was under promoted and just as good as his previous albums. No wonder that elliot has decided to move to epic records.

songs of the week- 29.07.2013

Hey guys, another week and more single releases and album releases. I also today had great news from itunes that i got tickets to go see elton john and Tom Odell in september i am so excited to see such a legend as elton and such a promising rising star as Tom. This weeks songs are;
ellie goulding - you my everything - From her re-release of halcyon called halcyon days which is due out on august 26. The song continues on well from the halcyon album but is more upbeat and dancey that the album and looking at the people she has worked with for the re release i would say this is going to be like a majority of the songs. After listening to this and burn i way prefer this song as i feel burn is way to robotic in the chorus and it really takes away from the song.

nina nesbitt - way in the world.

basement jaxx - what a difference your love makes.

alunageorge - your drums, your love.
- will be posting about there album sometime this week hopefully.

london grammer - strong.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that people who wear headphones while they walk, are much happier, more confident, and more beautiful individuals than someone making the solitary drudge to work without acknowledging their own interests and power.”
